All Learners who complete requirements* on or before Term 1 17-18 are eligible to participate in the annual May Commencement Exercises in Hong Kong. Invitation letters have been sent to the shortlisted students in this week. The following are the details of our 2017 Commencement ceremony:-

Congratulations on graduating from Upper Iowa University!

As the Hong Kong Center of UIU, we take great pleasure in inviting you to the Commencement Ceremony to be held in May 2017.

Dr. William Duffy, the President, of Upper Iowa University and his delegates would be present during this special occasion. You can find the details of the ceremony below: –

         Date: 23^rd May 2017 (Tuesday)
         Time: 10:00 am (Graduates)
         11:30 am (Guests and Family members)
         Venue: Diamond Ballroom, B1/F
         Eaton Hotel
         380 Nathan Road
         Kowloon, Hong Kong
         Dress Code: Formal and Smart
      2. Schedule for the Event
         10:00am Graduate Registration
         10:15 – 11:30am Dress Rehearsals (Graduates Only)
         11:30am Guest Registration
         12:00 – 1:30pm Commencement
         1:30 – 3:00pm Photos Taking Session
      3. Renting of Graduation Gown
         The wearing of Upper Iowa University Academic Regalia is compulsory for all graduates participating in the ceremony. This year, you can collect your gown at our campus.
         Please find the following details for gown collection: –
         Collection: 16^th May 2017 – 22^nd May 2017
         Period of Rental: 14 days (From 7^th May – 29^th May)
         Charge: Free
         Deposit:$1,000 – Cash Only
         Please Note that the full set of gown MUST be returned in good condition, no sewing, otherwise, the deposit will be forfeited.
         Additional Rental:The additional cost for gown renting is $100 per day. The full set of gown MUST be returned to UIU HK Campus on or before 29th May 2017.
      4. Student Representative
         As part of the Ceremony, we would like a student representative to join the staff on stage to give a brief speech in English to share your stories of success, course experiences and the benefits that you have gained from the program.
         If you are interested in being the student class of 2017 speaker representative for your MBA or undergraduate class, please send an email to Ms. Tracy Lai at [email protected] with your drafted speech (for about 5-8 minutes) by 17^th March 2017. Shortlisted candidates will be notified for an interview in early April 2017.
      5. Commencement Fee
         The commencement fee is set at HK$1,300 per student, which we have included: –

• Graduation Gown (14 days rental)
• 2 Complimentary Photos (1 x 8R, 1 x 5R)
• Congratulation Advertisement
• Graduation Leaflet

Additional Cost:-

1. 1. • Graduate Certificate at US$65 (HK$507), please contact the campus for more information
      • Commencement DVD at HK$150 (Optional for order) – Cash Only

Each student is recommended to bring a maximum of 2 guests to join the ceremony. Each guest will be charged at HK$150. If you wish to bring more than 2 guests, please indicate the request in your Reply Slip, we will try our very best to accommodate your request. Please note that all seats will be served on first-come-first-served basis. The campus will confirm with you in mid-April on the final decision.
Kindly confirm your attendance, numbers of guests attending with your contact details by return of reply slip. You can fax your Reply Slip to us at 2510 8996. All payment should be made in the form of cheque payable to “Upper Iowa University – Hong Kong Campus Limited”. Please send your cheque, indicating your personal details at the back to our office address shown below by 8th February 2016. Only graduates who have submitted the Reply Slip and payment by the stipulated deadline would be permitted to participate in the Ceremony. Hence, we seek your co-operation in adhering to the deadline.
